Color is an insatiable craving for me, and making art lets me feel like colors are flowing straight out of my hands. I love to play in mixed media, including colored pencil, watercolor, and ink, but my absolute favorite medium is soft pastel. My aim is to blend realism with a joyful approach to interpreting color, light, and shadow. Often choosing subjects that are very close to the viewer, I am especially drawn to the intimacy that is created within the immediate space of an another living being.

Though originally a big city dweller, I live now in the beautiful Asheville area of Western North Carolina. My childhood dream of becoming a mermaid remains a lifelong ambition, but my heart firmly belongs to the mountains.

My default state is to feel constantly like I’m about to burst with all the projects I want to do. Some of my other loves are singing/recording jazz, playing Chopin piano music, dance comedy, researching etymologies (word histories, not bugs), and subjecting loved ones to horrendous recitations of melodramatic soliloquies.

I also solve problems for people who are disgruntled with the glowing rectangle contraptions in their lives.
